Hook: What common pressures discourage believers?

Book: Jesus knew that future events could easily dishearten His followers. The constant clamor of the opposition accompanied by His eventual death could wear them down with feelings of hopelessness. They needed to know that His Kingdom of righteousness and truth was like a small amount of yeast that would affect everything it touches. Just as the prophets predicted, the teachings of Jesus are true. No matter how difficult life appears, never underestimate the influence and ultimate victory of His message.
