Hook: How do people tend to be impatient with life or even with God?

Book: Instant gratification is not what it is purported to be. Jesus used the metaphor of the growing process that transforms a seed into a fruitful stalk of wheat to illustrate how the kingdom of God will develop and grow until Christ returns. Many of His followers impatiently wanted to see it all happen immediately. But Jesus, knowing the future, wanted them to understand that a process had to occur that would result in a harvest. You would be wise not to second-guess God’s timing.
