A Scary Passage

Hook: What are various opinions on getting a ticket into heaven? Who makes the rules?

Book: Scary passage! The religious leaders thought they had a lock on heaven because of their knowledge, position, or works. Jesus made it clear that heaven is all about something these guys didn’t have, obedience—but only those who do the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter it. The will of the Father is to believe in His Son and obey His words. These leaders should have been more concerned about the applause of heaven than of men. The passage ends with a brutal evaluation: God doesn’t even know them, and what they think is good He calls evil. Genuine inner faith is demonstrated in external obedience.

Took: How would doing the will of the Father remove your fears and embolden your personal walk with God?
