Hook: What things that you chase in life fail to deliver the happiness you expect?

Book: The famous Beatitudes of Jesus presented His approach to true happiness and fulfillment. In a religious world that stressed outward conformity to human traditions, He provided a breath of fresh air by calling people to real joy flowing from inner loyalty to God and His Word. The contrast was evident when the joy of Jesus was compared to the anger of the leaders. Jesus wanted people to know that anyone anywhere under any circumstances could look to God for joy by simply honoring His ways. Each of the Beatitudes reveals a way to express passion for God and the blessing that follows this passion.
