Hook: Can you think of a time when your walk with God brought you into conflict with someone?

Book: Even at the young age of twelve, Jesus knew that He had two spheres of responsibility since He was God’s Son as well as the son of Mary and Joseph. This episode reveals the tension of this dual responsibility. In spite of any questions or misunderstandings Mary may have harbored she treasured these events in her heart, while Jesus was obedient to His earthly parents. Evidently, they all worked at balancing their dual authorities in life.
