Strange Bedfellows

Hook: How do people compromise themselves to gain a friendship?

Book: To shift responsibility for the death of Jesus, Pilate sent Him to Herod, a competing authority. The silence of Jesus so enraged Herod that He ridiculed and mocked Him. This unfair process toward Jesus created a friendship between the two rulers, who before this had been enemies. The desire for acceptance and friendship can often outweigh truth and loyalty. Both the religious and political leaders demonstrated that people may bless themselves at others’ expense. Beware when strange bedfellows come together.

Took: Why does participation in bad behavior create a bond between people? What can believers do to protect themselves from relationships that team up to hurt others?
