Hook: What specific act of humility has someone done for you?

Book: Knowing that His time on earth was coming to an end, Jesus wanted to show His followers the full extent of His love by washing their feet and going to the Cross. His humble act revealed a path to dealing with sin. First, everyone must have a spiritual bath by faith (verses 8–11). Second, you should deal with your daily sin through confession (verse 10), and then help others with their sin as well (verses 12–17). Each of these practices demands a bold step of humility.
