Hook: Why is boasting both so popular and senseless?

Book: Jesus wanted His disciples to know that their bragging rights were not valid. On the eve of His death, their arrogance contradicted what He was doing. For Jesus it was all about serving others not Himself. That is why He came as a Servant not a King. Since the Kingdom would be in their hands after His soon departure, He wanted them to understand that spiritual greatness comes to the one who serves. Understanding how the Kingdom works was essential to service.
