Hook: Can you think of ways you seek prominence at the expense of other people?

Book: James and John had no idea of the suffering involved in their request. The other ten disciples had the right to be indignant. But, none of them really understood that the path to glory comes by serving others, as Jesus would demonstrate on the Cross. There is no other path to greatness since even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve. Jesus wants His followers to ignore the tendency of human rulers and follow His humble path to greatness. This path may make little sense to you now, but is the only one that brings you to glory.
