Hook: When has God been silent in response to your persistent prayers?

Book: While the previous parable exhorted His followers to bring their requests to the Father, this one gave a hint why God may not respond at times. When people take the Pharisee’s stance of pride instead of the tax collector’s humility, they bring bad motivations, ask for the wrong things, or think that God owes them something. The principle the Lord gave was straightforward: Those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Look into the mirror of your prayers to see if they reflect pride or humility. When God doesn’t change the situation, maybe He wants to change you.
