Hook: Can you think of a time when you heard such startling or confusing news that you had difficulty absorbing it?

Book: Evidently, the disciples had such preconceived ideas on how future events would unfold that they could not process this second prediction of the Lord’s death and resurrection. Their perceptions were locked on Jesus succeeding, ruling, and inviting them to help, not on suffering.

Why do you think they were afraid to ask Jesus about it? Were they fearful of what might happen to them? The very fact that Jesus spoke these words should have given them confidence.
