Hook: When was the last time you were unable to solve a big problem? What limited you in your search for an answer?

Book: Jesus returned to the disciples to find them frustrated at their inability to cast out the evil spirit plaguing this boy. Jesus reminded them that it required belief. Evidently, they were relying on their own ability rather than faith in God to solve the problem. That is why Jesus pointed them to prayer. In the humble act of prayer you both acknowledge your inability and plead for God’s capability. The hurdle is getting past your denial that you are trusting in God when in reality you are depending on yourself.
