Hook: Why do people criticize something they don’t understand? What does your criticism communicate about you?

Book: Since the disciples did not fully understand or appreciate the previous discourse of Jesus as the Bread of Life, they grumbled. Possibly, the reference to Judas indicates that he was the instigator of the criticism. There is one in every crowd. The result is that some of Christ’s followers turned back and no longer followed Him. Sadly, the critical comments of a few had a dramatic influence on the spiritual state of others. Placing yourself above the words of Jesus is dangerous to both you and those listening.
