Hook: What would cause you to doubt the genuineness of a person’s faith in God?

Book: Jesus used the visit of His blood relatives to make a dramatic point about faith. Neither the family ties of His relatives or the steeped traditions of His audience were true indicators of a relationship with God. Genuine faith demonstrates itself by doing the will of the Father in heaven. The test of genuine faith is obedience to God’s will as revealed in His teaching. Jesus knows believers won’t be perfect but still considers them related to Him.
