CommentsCalling Good
Hook: Can you recall a time when your good intentions were misunderstood?
Book: A chief characteristic of evil is that it calls good “bad.” Immediately after Jesus miraculously healed this man, His actions were denounced for being done on the Sabbath. Duh! The religious leaders had created thirty-nine rules for Sabbath-keeping, and picking up a mat was not on the list of what was allowed. When Jesus explained that even the Father is always at His work, He made them even madder by calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. Their efforts to call Jesus’ work “bad” merely opened a door to reveal His true goodness and greatness.
