Hook: When did you last sit alongside the bed of a sick person and wonder why this suffering was happening?

Book: Jesus demonstrated His authority to rebuke the fever and cast out demons. Every healing by Jesus is a reminder that sin and pain are not His plan and that He will ultimately do what is necessary to remove the curse that causes it. This snapshot of His healing mercies reminds you to look through your pain to enjoy the comfort and eventual victory of the Lord. He silenced the demons so that His path to the Cross and victory would not be interrupted prematurely.
