Hook: When is it difficult to be loyal to Jesus in the public square?

Book: Peter had boasted in the Upper Room that not even death would hinder His loyalty to Jesus. Yet before the night was over he disowned Him three times. Do you think Peter feared the anger and abuse being hurled at the Lord? After he witnessed the Resurrection, Peter’s fear of others was replaced with allegiance to Jesus as he became a spokesman for the apostles. He quickly discovered that everything paled in comparison to the love of Christ. After all, hadn’t the Lord been the most loyal to him?
