Hook: If you were facing death, what would you pray for those you leave behind?

Book: Anticipating His execution, Jesus prayed that the Father would protect His disciples as they now faced the evil one. Since their relationship began by accepting His words, Jesus prayed that the Father would continue to sanctify them by the truth. The believer’s source of strength against evil is accepting and practicing God’s Word. Jesus knew that only two things on earth are eternal: people and His words. He was sent and sends you to bring the two together. No wonder that was His passion and prayer for His followers.
