Hook: When did someone try to trap or embarrass you for his or her own gain?

Book: Since the Pharisees wanted to eliminate Jesus, they had to fabricate a charge. Since the Herodians sided with the Romans in collecting taxes, they were taken as witnesses to hear Jesus’ answer to their question. They assumed His yes or no would incite someone, either the people or the Romans. Jesus could see through these hypocrites, and He surprised them with His answer. Whenever others try to trap or manipulate you, they reveal their character.
