Hook: Can you think of a time when you failed to take advantage of a great opportunity?

Book: Jesus gave this parable to teach His followers how to maximize their service while His Kingdom was delayed. Since a mina was worth about one-fourth of a year’s salary, each person was given significant responsibility until the newly appointed king returned. Like these people, Jesus’ followers have been given responsibilities for which He expects accountability. You have resources, abilities, and spheres of influence where He anticipates faithfulness until He returns. The waiting game provides you the opportunity of a lifetime.
