Hook: How do people try to find fulfillment apart from submission to Jesus?

Book: Do you think this man was really able to obey this list of commandments? He chose to justify himself because he was not about to leave his wealth and follow Jesus. Enjoying his passions and possessions blinded him to true satisfaction in life. Jesus promised eternal rewards, which would overwhelm any sacrifices made to follow Him. One day people will wish they had chased the right things.
